Tragedy on VA Tech campus

Posted by Tim :: Ministry News

VA tech shooting.jpg
Just today on the VA Tech campus 31 people were shot and killed . Great Commission Ministries' largest campus church is located on this campus, NLCF- has over 1000 students and is led by Jim Pace.
Please be praying for him and the students there that have been affected by this tragedy. Also, pray that the Christian students can be a support and give hope to those that need it so much.
I'm reminded of something that Ray Comfort said on The Way of the Master video, "Youth is no gaurantee of old age." People need the gospel. Jesus said:

“I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”

Two things about Pastor Jim Pace being On Larry King:

1) It was cool to see him there...for the 30 seconds he appeared.

2) However, we got stuck with half an hour of King doing his usual celebrity worship, this time with Dr. Phil McGraw, who spent most of his time wondering why there wasn't a campus lockdown after the dorm shooting rather than offering anything constructive. I had a problem this would happen as soon as they introduced Dr. Phil after Jim. American cable news media letting us down again, instead of actually talking with someone who is actually in Blacksburg as opposed to Dallas (where Dr. Phil was).

This is amazing:
VA Governor Tim Kaine, in a speech at a convocation in the 10,000-seat Cassell Coliseum, pointed to the example of the Bible's Job.
"[It's] one of the most powerful stories in human history...[Job was] afflicted with all kinds of tragedies and health [problems]. And... he was angry at his circumstances and he was angry at his Creator. He argued with God. But he didn't lose his faith... Despair is a natural emotion at a time like this. [We remember] those haunting words that were uttered on a hill in Calvary, 'My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?'"
