Do you want to make sugar water for the rest of your life...

SANY0978.JPGor do you want to change the world?

This reputed challenge made by Steve Jobs to Pepsi-Cola executive John Sculley may hold water when it comes to the stuff of earth, but that's where it ends. When it comes to giving your life to what will last forever, only the gospel of Christ comes through.

I am looking to see if there might be a few brave men and women who will do the unthinkable... move to Decorah Iowa because of church. Following is an e-mail I sent to many in my sphere of influence, but if you didn't get it consider yourself challenged.

I would like to invite you to consider being a part of a new lifegroup focused on:

1. Training on what it takes to be a part of starting a new church.

2. Building relationships between those who are considering being a part of a possible Decorah church plant.

Here are some specifics:

The 1st Tuesday of every month will be a prayer time asking God to move in Decorah and to lead us into His perfect will. Anyone can join us for this prayer meeting whether they are a part of the lifegroup or not. First prayer meeting: Sept. 2nd, 7pm, 418 Stanton Ave. (Borseth house).

During all the other Tuesdays of each month, we will follow this basic format:
A time of accountability with our personal walk with God (daily QTs, verse memorization, prayer, and sharing our faith)…
Listen to and discuss a teaching from The Church Planter’s toolkit
Close by praying for each others specific needs and for God to reveal His perfect will to us.

We will start this coming Tuesday (8/26) with a more informal get to know each other time and talk about where we are at with this whole church planting/ Decorah thing. We will meet at 7pm and finish by 8:30pm at 418 Stanton Ave (the Borseth house).

Please pray about this and e-mail me with any questions or to sign up. Currently, the lifegroup consists of the Borseth and the Bannantine families, Jenny Larson, Angie Frerichs (if God relieves her of her work commitment on Tuesdays), and Adam & Sara Bauer.

I'm praying for more.
