Hi All,
Here is an update on our lives so far. In January Jon and I got custody of Jessica's three kids. They are Destiny 4, Aurorra 2, and Tristan 1. We are hoping it will only be for a few years until she gets her college degree and is able to support them. We know it is a lot to take on but we know it is a blessing that we have the means to take care of them until Jess and her husband are able to. So I am not working just chasing kids. Jon came home for a visit in January and just left 2 days ago. We are always so busy when he is home, trying to get things done in a short period of time and still have time for ourselves. It looks like Jon will have to stay in Japan until August of 2008 so we will make do until he is home again. Bonnie is living in North Dakota with her new husband Shawn and they are really happy. Jon II is stationed in California but will be leaving for an overseas assignment some time this month for 6 months. He is also engaged to a lovely girl and they are planning a wedding when he gets back. So that's whats new with us.

Just an update on our lives thus far. Jon is still in Japan and it is looking like he will be there until June 2007. I am still in Louisiana taking care of 3 of our grans. Jon was home for 3 weeks and we took a week of it to go to Florida. If you have never been there I hight recommend it. We had a great time hanging out on the beach and Jon did some snorkeling. I will put a few pictures on this site. It looks like we will probably be getting temp custody of them for a while. Jessica is trying to go to school full time and work and is on and off again with her husband. The kids have been moved around so much they don't even know where home is anymore. She has agreed to let Jon and I have them for a while until she can decide if she wants to be with her husband and where she wants to live. It is hard taking on three small children and some days I am pretty stressed but they really are a blessing. They make the days full and eventful. We are still praying that the air force will let Jon retired next year so he can come home and help me chase children. Bonnie and the kids have settled in North Dakota and are doing great. She is going to school full time to become an accountant and working a part time job at a bingo hall. Her husband, Shawn, will be going to Guam for several weeks some time this year so pray that he is safe. Jon 2 is living at Edwards AFB in California and has met a girl that he is pretty serious about. Her name is Janie and they are already making plans for the future. He will probably deploy some time next year so keep him in your prayers that he will be safe.
Joe and Jan and the kids are doing great. Joe is working at UPS part-time and Jan is trying her hand at Real Estate. Erin and Joseph and Ryan are all growing like crazy. Keep them in your prayers as Ryan just turned 16 yrs old and we all know how difficult boys can be at that age. Thats all for now.

Today is 8 May 2006. Amanda has been visiting me for the past 27 days and it is has been great. We have walked the hard pavement of Fussa Japan, eaten Curry (a lot of it) and taken about 150 pitures of the local area and of Showa Imperial Park, one of Tokyo's grandest parks.
Jon II is still in training for Security Forces at Lackland AFB Texas and will be graduating on May 27. He qualified "Marksman" on the 9MM pistol, the "M4" and the M249 automatic machine gun. His instructor was very impressed with his shooting skills becasue the normal accuracy range of the automic was 600 meters, Jon was destroying targets up to 750 meters away. He also hit the target with the grenade launcher 13 of of 15 times. To qualify only takes 2 hits out of 15. (of course we are talking about grenades so close is close enough.) He will graduate and move to his first assignment at Edwards AFB in California. Most likey he will not be there very long before he is shipped to Iraq.
I am still waiting to hear official confirmation on my retirement. If all is approved the way I have asked I will be leaving Japan around the 2nd week of August at the latest.
Amanda has had fun here but is looking forward to getting back home. Her father is having knee replacement surgery on May 24th so she will be helping him out as he recovers.
Her daughter, Jessica's, childeren will be spending a lot of time with her at our home because she will soon be a single parent and is going to school and working a job too.
Bonnie is moving to Minot North Dakota and (it looks like) getting married again in the future. She has been dating Shawn, a pilot of really big planes, for about 10 months and he has asked her to move up and become his wife. (If I say any more I will have to kill ya'll)
She will be leaving the end of May.
So as you can see lots of stuff going on this month.
God Bless each of you and remember us in your prayers.

Hi All,

Jon and I finally have some time together here is Japan. As you probably know, we have been living apart. Jon here in Japan and I am in Louisiana with Bonnie and her kids. It has been stressful at times but we make the best of it. Jon and I love each other very much and that hasn't changed after 10 whole years. Hard to believe! I know we will be together again, I think about the military people stationed in Iraq and Afganistan and realize that I have it pretty good. Yes, we are almost 7000 miles apart but Jon is safe, not like those stationed in the middle east. When I get down I remind myself of that and tell myself to get over it!
We pray that everyone had a Merry Christmas and that the new year brings lots of blessing to all.
God Bless

All,
To date this is what is happening in Japan
Jon II has graduated from high school and is currently working at the theater on base. He plans on staying here until he goes active duty AF on 3 Jan 2006. He finally got a job as a Security Forces Officer (Cop). He is very excited and is looking forward to going active duty and getting out on his own.
Amanda is still living in Louisiana with Bonnie and the kids. She is working at the bas exchange at Barksdale AFB, but prayerfully not for long. She has applied for a couple different jobs and will find out in the next week or so if she will get hired on.
I am still working like crazy here at Yokota. And that is about it. Jon and I did climb Mt Fuji on July 22. We climbed all night long and watche dthe sun rise on the top of Mt Fuji. It was a very beautiful sun rise, tireing and exciting all at the same time. I have posted all the pictures on this web site.
I am going to be heading back to the states to visit Amanda and company on 19 Aug and will be there until Sept 08, then back here. I plan on submitting my retirement papers again when i return. Hopefully they will approve it this time and i can retire on Sept 01, 2006. Time to move on.
Take care and God Bless

Hi Everyone,
Here is an update with what's happening in Japan.
Spring is here. The cherry blossoms are blooming and is very pretty everywhere.
Jon and I went snowboarding a few weeks ago. It was very exciting until I fell backwards and gave myself a concussion. I ended up going to the hospital and got a few days off from work. :)
Jon is doing very well in school.... he brought home 1 C last semester and the rest A's and B's. He received an Academic Achievement award from the prinicpal. We are very proud of him. He is also working at the base theater and seems to like it. He still has not "booked" a job in the Air Force, but the recruiter says he will have one by the end of this month.
Amanda is currently working at a place called Cinnabun and no i don't get discounted cinnimon rolls, darn it. Amanda will be leaving for the States on April 25th to buy a house and get it set up so Bonnie and the kids will have a place to live until she gets on her feet. Her and Jason are getting divorced in the next week or so. Please pray for her. We plan on moving back to Louisiana after I retire anyway so this way we will have a house ready when we get there.
I am still working long hours at work. Since my retirment request was denied I will try again in August of this year, hopefully our manning will be up and they will let me retire effective 01 August 06. Please pray for me as well.
Check out the new pictures.
That is it for now.
God Bless
Jon, AManda and Jon II

What we believe:
We believe that Jesus is the risen, living Son of God and that only by believing in Him and accepting Him into your heart as your personal savior can you enter the gates of heaven. Just as the Bible says.
3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life.

What I find interesting about Japan:
1)	I find it interesting that the Japanese are very dedicated to their work. Regardless of the job.
2)	I find it interesting that they can drive on the wrong side of the road with such ease and with such speed…. And not hit each other.
3)	I find it interesting that there are no over weight Japanese. (At least I have not seen any)
4)	I find it interesting that to avoid “road rage” a simple bow/node of your head will make any driving mistake “OK”.
5)	And I find it most interesting that the Japanese, to this date, still abide by a solid code of honor and instill it in their children.

Prayer requests:
1)	For our daughter Jessica. Her marriage is on the rocks and they are currently separated.
2)	For Diana. For continued healing of her Leukemia and for direction for her life.
3)	For son Jon as he completes his last year of high school and starts his new adventure in the Air Force.
