SALT 2004

Posted by Tim :: Ministry News

Over spring break Kristen and I went to Chicago looking for a house to live in. No, we’re not moving to Chicago. We’re laying the ground-work to launch a first ever leadership training/ church planting program for college students.

This summer, we will be leading a program called SALT (Spiritual And Life Training) in the hopes that it will equip college students to be leaders of their generation and that several Bible studies will be established at UIC (University of Illinois at Chicago) that will grow into an urban church in downtown Chicago!
Please pray that God’s favor would rest on this faithstretching endeavor (Psalm 90:17). Here's some specifics to pray for:

  • At least 30 students would participate.
  • We would plan and prepare well remembering all the details that go into making a conference great.
  • Ideal housing would be found for the Borseth family.
  • Dan Jones and Autumn Hare would raise all the support they need to be SALT interns for the summer.
  • God would transform lives and a UIC campus ministry would be formed.
  • Tremendous relations with the Agape House (where we will meet and eat) and UIC would be established.

We have a house!
It's a nice 3 bedroom home in Warrenville, a burb of Chicago. It is close to a park for the kids, has a washer and dryer for the wife, allows for pets for Duke, and is exactly what we can afford for rent (for me). God is soooo good.
This whole process affirms again that "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame" (Romans 10:11).
